At the heart of the Montmartre district in Paris lies a legendary cabaret: Le Lapin Agile. Founded in the early 20th century, this iconic venue welcomed many renowned artists, including Picasso and Modigliani.

Its unusual name comes from a well-known anecdote: it is said to have been inspired by a painting by the artist André Gill, depicting a rabbit jumping out of a hat, originally titled “Le Lapin à Gill,” which over time became “Le Lapin Agile.”

The cabaret quickly established itself as a landmark of Montmartre’s bohemian life. Through songs, poetry, and artistic encounters, it became a true haven for the creative minds of the era.

Today, Le Lapin Agile still preserves this unique atmosphere and continues to keep the artistic spirit of Montmartre alive across generations.
